About me

I was always driven by a deep desire to make a dent in the universe and make it better. That's the primary reason I spent almost my entire professional career focusing on the Healthcare Industry and Healthcare Technology.

 

I am especially passionate about the wonderful things that happen at the intersection of customer needs, people and technology. One of the things I take special pride in is the people and organizations I helped grow and develop to achieve their full potential.

Curious by nature, I've taught myself many things and learned them on my own since I was a kid. I've always loved computers and what you can do with them. I studied for my first degree in computer science parallel to high school and graduated at age 19. I learn best by doing, which is why I've had such a diverse set of experiences and roles. Every time, I go deep to understand a new domain, roll up my sleeves, get my hands dirty, and seek the best practices or state of the art. Not a day goes by where I'm not looking to learn new things.

During my 18 year tenure at at Philips I had grown from software engineer to VP of Innovation Strategy. The journey took me through Medical Imaging and Healthcare Informatics in diverse roles spanning many functions. I was fortunate to lead take a key role in amazing activities such as:

• Forming a brand new business unit focused on Software only products.

• Driving an innovative solution from early concept through to market launch, including all aspects - core technology including patents, value proposition design, product definition, working with customer design partners, messaging, go to market.

• Executing two M&A deals, as well as evaluating a dozen more opportunities.

• Developing the company wide AI strategy and positioning.

• Driving portfolio investment decisions across a huge R&D budget.

• Led the creation of Sanara Ventures, a technology incubator and venture fund in Israel focused on MedTech as a joint venture of Philips and Teva.

• Spend 3 years living in the US, working closely with leading healthcare institutions, opinion leaders and technology companies in the space of enterprise software for healthcare.

Having also worked in small and larger startups, I also know what it's like to work within a startup environment and appreciate its challenges. I was the lead software architect of a B2C startup in the music industry (FoxyTunes, acquired by Yahoo) and served as the Chief Product Development Officer at Sight Diagnostics, an in-vitro diagnostics startup.

I am known for telling it like it is, having crisp communication and finding simple solutions to complex problems or situations.
